Representation of the People Act, 1951
- MCC-01 — No appeal on grounds of religion, race, caste, community or languageRP Act s.123(3) · BlockingDo instead: Address the underlying policy or delivery failure. A community's grievance about water, jobs or ration delivery is legitimate; an appeal to vote as a community is a corrupt practice.
- MCC-02 — No promotion of enmity between groupsRP Act s.123(3A) · BlockingDo instead: Criticise a record, a decision or a policy. Never a group.
- MCC-08 — 48-hour silence period before pollRP Act s.126 · BlockingDo instead: No public campaigning, procession or broadcast in the final 48 hours.
